Who am I?

Hello, my name is Steve Chastell and I am a Life Coach.

I often get asked what my background is and why I became involved in Life Coaching. So here is a brief history.

I was born in London, England and lived there for 26 years.

After I finished my education I started my working life as a tailor in Savile Row and New Bond Street.

Having done this for 3 yrs I became more involved in the sales side and discovered that this was more my forte as I have always enjoyed being involved with people.

It was during my sales career that I discovered PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) books and training, and the effect that it can have on people and their lives, so I enrolled on as many courses that I could to discover more about this subject.

I found that not only was this helping me with my life, but I was able to use the knowledge to help others improve theirs. This gave me a great feeling of satisfaction and purpose, to think that I was able to assist others to achieve a better life for themselves.

Approximately 5 years ago (1998) I decided it was time for me to use my abilities more fully and got involved in training.

At this time my wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had a mastectomy and Chemo-therapy and so I stopped working full time to look after her. As a consequence I did not become a trainer until half way through 1999. I became a store trainer for Sainsbury's and really enjoyed my work.

In January 2001, while I enjoyed working with the staff at Sainsbury's I started to look for something more in respect of helping others to have a better, more fulfilling life.

It was at this time that I first heard of Life Coaching. One of my wife's friends suggested I take a look at this as she thought I would be good and that it would give me what I was looking for.

Unfortunately my wife's Cancer came back and so everything was put on hold again.

My wife lost her fight with Cancer in November 2002 and I was left in limbo, not really knowing what to do with myself. Then in January 2003 I took another look at Life Coaching and decided it was the right thing for me.

I attended a training course with The Coaching Academy and started my business in March.

I truly believe that this is the best decision I ever made and only wish that I had discovered Life Coaching earlier in my life.

I have helped numerous individuals overcome the obstacles that were stopping them from moving on their life/career (see Testimonials) and have also worked in the corporate field.

The satisfaction and fulfilment that I get from being a Life Coach far outweighs any form of reward I could get from doing anything else with my life.
